Thanks to the Redditch County Council, and the all the guys at the Ecumenical Centre in Redditch, the FREE 'drop in' course was very popular and was a great success.
We hope to get more free tech courses up and running after the lockdown restrictions.
Steve and Sarah Franklin set up Ending Loneliness to assist primarily older people who do not have the opportunity to talk or socialise with others, whether inside or outside of their home. For some people, loneliness can be combated through an occasional cup of tea and a chat, whereas for others they relish the opportunity to go to social groups or learn new skills, and that’s where Ending Loneliness can help.
We aim to arrange events across both Herefordshire and Worcestershire to connect with a variety of communities.
Steve and Sarah were both registered and active volunteers with Age UK’s ‘Reconnections’ programme, which is a matching scheme for older people in Worcestershire who wish to engage with a supportive volunteer. Since the start of the pandemic, Steve has become an NHS volunteer, getting prescriptions to those in isolation.
Every Tuesday at the Ecumenical Centre in Redditch. Anyone feeling lonely is very much welcome! Refreshments available and a good chin-wag!
Age is irrelivant to us, so it doesn't matter if you are at college or retired. If you are feeling the pressure of loneliness, please get in touch and we will try our best to help.
We enjoy trips out and about too. If there's a project on and a chance of a cuppa, we'll be there!
